VISHAL

I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University in the City of New York. My research interest is in developing algorithms for spatially-aware cognitively-controlled hearing aids.

Recently, I graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. For my excellence in academics and extracurricular activities during my undergraduate years, I received the Institute Gold Medal and the Best Outgoing Student Award. 

I conducted research at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, for my undergraduate capstone project, during the spring of 2020. During the summer of 2019, I pursued a research internship at USC's Viterbi School of Engineering in Los Angeles, California, where I worked on developing an efficient algorithm for calibration for large-scale phased array antennas.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India invited me to represent India in China in the annual bilateral youth exchange program in July 2018.

I enjoy travelling the world, living in multicultural places, learning new skills and connecting with people.
